The Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo socio-cultural organization, has announced that Senator Dave Umahi’s impressive performance as Minister of Works will significantly influence Igbo voting patterns in the upcoming 2027 elections. According to Ohanaeze’s Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the organization’s decision at the ballot box will prioritize tangible results and responsible leadership over party loyalties.
The current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made significant strides in addressing the historical marginalization of Ndigbo, breaking away from tradition. For decades, the region suffered from severe underinvestment, with dilapidated roads hindering progress and threatening community safety and prosperity [1).
However, under President Tinubu’s leadership, the federal government has prioritized rehabilitation and construction of vital road networks in the Southeast. Notable projects include:
