Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, on Thursday, described the alarm about a plot to foist an Interim National Government (ING) on the country as a ploy by security agencies to arrest the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar and his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi, before the May 29 handover date.

The DSS had on Wednesday in Abuja accused those it referred to as “entrenched interests” of plotting to subvert democracy by forcing the emplacement of an ING in the country.

Frank in reaction to the DSS’ claim, said the secret police know more than they chose to tell Nigerians and urged them to be more forthcoming.

He said the security alarm by the agency was meant as an alibi to crackdown on peaceful protesters demonstrating against the rigged 2023 presidential election and to massively arrest opposition politicians in the country.

He said: “The DSS’ purported intelligence is fake. It is a plot to crackdown on protesters and arrest opposition political leaders before May 29.

“We have credible information that the DSS issued the statement in preparation for its planned disruption of ongoing protest by Nigerians who are demonstrating peacefully to demand for justice and the restoration of their stolen mandate.”

Frank, who is the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), Ambassador to East Africa and Middle East, said that the DSS ought to have used the same intelligence to stop abuse and killing of Nigerians by terrorists groups over the years.

He said: “Where was their intelligence when the Independent National Electoral Commission and Mahmood Yakubu were compromised to rig the 2023 general election?

“Nigerians have been under siege by bandits, kidnappers and terrorists for a long time now, but the DSS never gave intelligence to foil kidnapping, heinous attacks, maiming and killings of innocent Nigerians.

“The only time you see the DSS coming up to talk about intelligence is whenever Nigerians are preparing to either protest against obnoxious government policies, rules, human rights abuses or carrying out lawful political activities.

“The DSS must stop this method of intimidating Nigerians, especially politicians, whenever they want to exercise their constitutional rights.

“In fact, we dare the DSS or any other security outfit in the country to arrest Atiku and Obi before May 29 and see the wrath of Nigerians.”

He however called on protesters not to be intimidated by “this DSS’ fake intelligence of a phantom ING plot.”

He enjoined the UK, US and EU to immediately call on the Nigerian Government to allow Nigerians to exercise their democratic rights which is to ensure that the stolen mandate of the Nigerian people is restored through peaceful protests and the judicial process.

He added: “We are aware that the DSS is planning to sponsor counter protests across the country to clash with the peaceful protesters and use that as an excuse to clampdown on them.

“We dare the DSS to name those involved in the phantom plot if they genuinely have the ‘intelligence’ about a m plot to instigate an ING so the world will know those who plan to stop the inauguration of the President.

“But we know they are not being sincere. This is often their style whenever they want to engage in propaganda and do a hatchet job.

“On the contrary, let them name the purported politicians involved in the plot. Their real intent is to clampdown on protesters and arrest Atiku and Obi before May 29. Nothing more.

“We use this opportunity to call on the international community to prevail on President Muhammadu Buhari to call the DSS to order and stop them from meddling in the democratic process.

“The DSS is the one that is about to scuttle democracy in the country at this moment by plotting to arrest Atiku and Obi and other top opposition politicians,” he said.

He further urged the DSS not to allow the agency to be used to truncate democracy or as purveyors of fake news.

He insisted that the DSS had of recent attempted albeit unsuccessfully to arrest and prosecute the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele for allegedly financing terrorism in the country.

“They later pulled back following the outcry that trailed the move. This is another of such hoaxes and it is one too many,” he said.

In consonance with the ‘Take Back Nigeria’ mantra made prevalent by one of the Peter Gregory Obi For President support groups, now is the time to TAKE BACK IMO STATE for Good. And the Party that is most positioned to berth the Imo State renaissance is unarguably the Labour Party.

APC Chieftain Tasks N/West Governors – Elect On Good Governance

The Zonal Secretary North West of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo while congratulating Governor’s elect on the party from the North West region, has also charged them on the task of governance ahead of them.

Speaking with newsmen on the outcome of the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, Hon. Goronyo said, the confidence reposed on the governor’s elect by their respective states cannot be taken forgranted.

He said, their victories at the polls is a testament of the acceptability of the party, stressing that they cannot afford to fail the people who elected them but to ensure that dividends of democracy is visible in their respective States.

Rt. Hon. Goronyo who is also the North West Director Youth Mobilisation APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) commended the youths under his directorate for their enormous contributions in the victories of the north West Governors on their party platform.

Towards this, he urged the governors to ensure that the youths and women are carried along effectively in the administration of their respective States as a way of appreciating their efforts at the polls and justify the saying that, to whom much is giving, much is expected.

” I have no doubt whatsoever that all the North West governors elect of APC will deliver on their mandates in their respective States, I however call on all and sundry to give them maximum support for them to.suucceed effectively on their mandates of good governance.

” Above I also urge that we pray for Allah to direct them on the right part in the discharge of their executive responsibilities and particularly for a good working relationship with.their respective States House of Assemblies.

The former Sokoto lawmaker while congratulating in particular the Sokoto State Governor- elect Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, he also commended his Excellency Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the good people of Sokoto State for working tirelessly to bring back Sokoto to the progressive fold.

A group under the aegis of Kano Progressives Forum has called on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to consider rewarding its Kano Central Senatorial Zone candidate, Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura, for what described as his ” legendary support and generosity to the party since 2019″.

A statement signed by the group Director of Publicity, Malam Aminu Abubakar noted that Zaura “has donated 50 vehicles to the APC and ensured the establishment of functional Local Governments party offices in the entire Kano State” adding that ” this commitment to the party’s victory is almost unbeatable in the recent history of the party”.

“We urge the national leadership of the APC to do all within its democratic powers to give special recognition to A. A Zaura, and we make thus call without prejudice to the possibility of reclaiming his mandate in court,” the statement further noted.

Turning to the winner of APC Kano North, currently contesting for the slot of Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibril (Maliya), the group called on ” both the party and distinguished members of the 10th Senate to give him massive support, on grounds of competence and in the spirit of accepted democratic principles”

The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 1, Ajaka in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi state has denied knowledge of the purported letter of suspension on the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Murtala Ajaka.

The APC leaders said said falsehood by the mischief makers becomes more glaring from the inclusion of the name and signature of the late Ward Welfare Secretary, Danjuma Sani, who died on 13th April, 2022.

In a disclaimer letter addressed to Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, dated Friday, 24 of March 2023, and signed by the APC chairman Ajaka ward 1, Omale Danladi and the ward secretary, Suleiman Abubakar, the party leaders queried the time and place where the ward executive members met to take decision to suspend the Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka.

While regretting the inconveniences and pandemonium caused the governorship aspirant as a result of the purported suspension, the ward executives assured him of “unalloyed support for you before, during and after the elections and to further assure you that, with your unmatched records and by the grace of God, your victory in the forthcoming elections is assured.”

The letter which is copied to the APC national chairman, North-central APC chairman and the Kogi state APC chairman reads: “We, the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 1, Ajaka in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi state wish to and hereby deny the purported letter of your suspension alongside all the allegations contained therein in entirety, as they are completely frivolous, false and a calculated attempt by political enemies to tarnish the image of the generality of Ward 1 Party Excos and to distract and frustrate your selfless political ambition.

“The falsehood and mischief of the mischief makers becomes more glaring from the inclusion of the name and signature of our deceased Exco member by the name Danjuma Sani Ejika (Welfare Secretary) who died on 13th April, 2022 on a purported document containing the names and signatures of Ajaka Ward 1 Exco members present at the purported meeting whereat the decision to suspend you was reached.

“What is more, the place, date and time when we, the Ajaka Ward 1 leadership of our great party reached the purported decision to suspend you is not stated on the letter.

“While we regret all the inconveniences and pandemonium occasioned by this mischievous act of the political enemies, may we use this medium to reiterate our unalloyed support for you before, during and after the elections and to further assure you that, with your unmatched records and by the grace of God, your victory in the forthcoming elections is assured.”

Nigeria’s Foremost humanitarian Activist Comrade Iyere has warned Julius Abure, Chijioke Edeoga, Nnia Nwodo and Barth Nnaji against making their ongoing desperate move to truncate the ongoimg collation of result for the 2023 Enugu Guber Election.

He said that the above named Chieftains of the Labour Party had asked their party agents to disrupt the ongoing collation of the 2023 guber results, seeing that their own candidate has lost the poll to a more qualified candidate, who is Barr Peter Mbah, the candidate of the PDP. He advised them to desist from such fraudulent acts because it will be resisted with civil action.

The Bauchi Consolidated Youth Association has again asked the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police to arrest Ex-Rep Speaker, Yakubu Dogara for what it called interfering with investigation and obstructing the police from carrying out their lawful duty.

The Group in a statement by its Coordinator, Lawal Sani Ningi, was reacting to reports that Dogara had challenged the police Commissioner’s order for the arrest of wanted member representing Bauchi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yakubu Shehu, Abdullahi.

“We are extremely worried that after the Bauchi Police Command had in the discharge of its legitimate duty on Tuesday, declared the Rep Abdullahi wanted for criminal conspiracy, disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide, Dogara had the audacity to attempt to shield him.

“Dogara, in desperation to shield the wanted Rep from the law, claimed erroneously and ignorantly that the Police did not follow due process for ordering for the arrest, on the grounds that the wanted lawmaker enjoyed some immunity from arrest based on criminal allegations levelled against him.

“By his desperation to shield the wanted culprit, Dogara had, by every reasonable implication, exposed himself as part of the sinister plot to destabilize Bauchi State during the coming elections and must be arrested and investigated for his role in the diabolical scheme,” Ningi said.

The Group recalled that it had earlier called for the arrest of Dogara and other collaborators for acts that led to the violence that erupted at Duguri the governor’s hometown in Alkaleri Local Government that left one person dead and 15 others injured, for which Rep Abdullahi is being investigated.”We submit that Dogara’s action constitutes a clear breach of the provisions of Section 145 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria relating to obstructing officers of the law from carrying out their lawful duties.

“For the purpose of this petition, we clarify that Dogara’s wilful attempt to obstruct, pervert or defeat the course of justice, constitutes an offence that carries a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years if proceeded with by Indictment,” Ningi said.
