APC Chieftain Tasks N/West Governors – Elect On Good Governance

The Zonal Secretary North West of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Rt. Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo while congratulating Governor’s elect on the party from the North West region, has also charged them on the task of governance ahead of them.

Speaking with newsmen on the outcome of the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections, Hon. Goronyo said, the confidence reposed on the governor’s elect by their respective states cannot be taken forgranted.

He said, their victories at the polls is a testament of the acceptability of the party, stressing that they cannot afford to fail the people who elected them but to ensure that dividends of democracy is visible in their respective States.

Rt. Hon. Goronyo who is also the North West Director Youth Mobilisation APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) commended the youths under his directorate for their enormous contributions in the victories of the north West Governors on their party platform.

Towards this, he urged the governors to ensure that the youths and women are carried along effectively in the administration of their respective States as a way of appreciating their efforts at the polls and justify the saying that, to whom much is giving, much is expected.

” I have no doubt whatsoever that all the North West governors elect of APC will deliver on their mandates in their respective States, I however call on all and sundry to give them maximum support for them to.suucceed effectively on their mandates of good governance.

” Above I also urge that we pray for Allah to direct them on the right part in the discharge of their executive responsibilities and particularly for a good working relationship with.their respective States House of Assemblies.

The former Sokoto lawmaker while congratulating in particular the Sokoto State Governor- elect Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, he also commended his Excellency Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and the good people of Sokoto State for working tirelessly to bring back Sokoto to the progressive fold.

A group under the aegis of Kano Progressives Forum has called on the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress(APC) to consider rewarding its Kano Central Senatorial Zone candidate, Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura, for what described as his ” legendary support and generosity to the party since 2019″.

A statement signed by the group Director of Publicity, Malam Aminu Abubakar noted that Zaura “has donated 50 vehicles to the APC and ensured the establishment of functional Local Governments party offices in the entire Kano State” adding that ” this commitment to the party’s victory is almost unbeatable in the recent history of the party”.

“We urge the national leadership of the APC to do all within its democratic powers to give special recognition to A. A Zaura, and we make thus call without prejudice to the possibility of reclaiming his mandate in court,” the statement further noted.

Turning to the winner of APC Kano North, currently contesting for the slot of Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibril (Maliya), the group called on ” both the party and distinguished members of the 10th Senate to give him massive support, on grounds of competence and in the spirit of accepted democratic principles”

The leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward 1, Ajaka in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi state has denied knowledge of the purported letter of suspension on the Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yakubu Murtala Ajaka.

The APC leaders said said falsehood by the mischief makers becomes more glaring from the inclusion of the name and signature of the late Ward Welfare Secretary, Danjuma Sani, who died on 13th April, 2022.

In a disclaimer letter addressed to Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka, dated Friday, 24 of March 2023, and signed by the APC chairman Ajaka ward 1, Omale Danladi and the ward secretary, Suleiman Abubakar, the party leaders queried the time and place where the ward executive members met to take decision to suspend the Hon. Yakubu Murtala Ajaka.

While regretting the inconveniences and pandemonium caused the governorship aspirant as a result of the purported suspension, the ward executives assured him of “unalloyed support for you before, during and after the elections and to further assure you that, with your unmatched records and by the grace of God, your victory in the forthcoming elections is assured.”

The letter which is copied to the APC national chairman, North-central APC chairman and the Kogi state APC chairman reads: “We, the leadership of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 1, Ajaka in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi state wish to and hereby deny the purported letter of your suspension alongside all the allegations contained therein in entirety, as they are completely frivolous, false and a calculated attempt by political enemies to tarnish the image of the generality of Ward 1 Party Excos and to distract and frustrate your selfless political ambition.

“The falsehood and mischief of the mischief makers becomes more glaring from the inclusion of the name and signature of our deceased Exco member by the name Danjuma Sani Ejika (Welfare Secretary) who died on 13th April, 2022 on a purported document containing the names and signatures of Ajaka Ward 1 Exco members present at the purported meeting whereat the decision to suspend you was reached.

“What is more, the place, date and time when we, the Ajaka Ward 1 leadership of our great party reached the purported decision to suspend you is not stated on the letter.

“While we regret all the inconveniences and pandemonium occasioned by this mischievous act of the political enemies, may we use this medium to reiterate our unalloyed support for you before, during and after the elections and to further assure you that, with your unmatched records and by the grace of God, your victory in the forthcoming elections is assured.”

Nigeria’s Foremost humanitarian Activist Comrade Iyere has warned Julius Abure, Chijioke Edeoga, Nnia Nwodo and Barth Nnaji against making their ongoing desperate move to truncate the ongoimg collation of result for the 2023 Enugu Guber Election.

He said that the above named Chieftains of the Labour Party had asked their party agents to disrupt the ongoing collation of the 2023 guber results, seeing that their own candidate has lost the poll to a more qualified candidate, who is Barr Peter Mbah, the candidate of the PDP. He advised them to desist from such fraudulent acts because it will be resisted with civil action.

Comrade added that the imposition of Edeoga during the primaries weakened his support from the OBIDIENTs who splinted their votes amongst LP, PDP and APGA

Then, there was a special talk show segment with Pastor Deola Phillips and Rev. Tom Amenkhienan discussing the impact and outpour of testimonies on the first day.

Like many, they were in awe of the teaching of the man of God, and the astounding miracles ushered in the lives of countless all over the world.

That’s the reason why ‘if any man be in Christ he’s a new creature’. He has received a new life. This new life came with the righteousness of Christ, guiltless and acquitted.

Christ paid with his life so all who come to know him wouldn’t have to suffer the judgement to come. ‘Those who believe in Jesus will be bold on the Day of Judgment (1 John 4:17).

The exhortation came to its peak as Pastor Chris concluded with these words, “All people are beautiful when the right thing happens with them. When Christ comes into your life, there’s a beauty and there’s a glory.”

The pivotal moment came when Pastor Chris approached the sick in the studio, and one could see their hunger and desire for a new diagnosis of divine health.

As the man of God laid hands on the sick, rebuked the evil spirits, and in some cases, blew on them; the devils of darkness fled. The lame walked, the bedridden jumped, the weak sprung up with renewed strength, and many more miracles took place!

The Bauchi Consolidated Youth Association has again asked the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police to arrest Ex-Rep Speaker, Yakubu Dogara for what it called interfering with investigation and obstructing the police from carrying out their lawful duty.

The Group in a statement by its Coordinator, Lawal Sani Ningi, was reacting to reports that Dogara had challenged the police Commissioner’s order for the arrest of wanted member representing Bauchi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Yakubu Shehu, Abdullahi.

“We are extremely worried that after the Bauchi Police Command had in the discharge of its legitimate duty on Tuesday, declared the Rep Abdullahi wanted for criminal conspiracy, disturbance of public peace and culpable homicide, Dogara had the audacity to attempt to shield him.

“Dogara, in desperation to shield the wanted Rep from the law, claimed erroneously and ignorantly that the Police did not follow due process for ordering for the arrest, on the grounds that the wanted lawmaker enjoyed some immunity from arrest based on criminal allegations levelled against him.

“By his desperation to shield the wanted culprit, Dogara had, by every reasonable implication, exposed himself as part of the sinister plot to destabilize Bauchi State during the coming elections and must be arrested and investigated for his role in the diabolical scheme,” Ningi said.

The Group recalled that it had earlier called for the arrest of Dogara and other collaborators for acts that led to the violence that erupted at Duguri the governor’s hometown in Alkaleri Local Government that left one person dead and 15 others injured, for which Rep Abdullahi is being investigated.”We submit that Dogara’s action constitutes a clear breach of the provisions of Section 145 of the Criminal Code Act in Nigeria relating to obstructing officers of the law from carrying out their lawful duties.

“For the purpose of this petition, we clarify that Dogara’s wilful attempt to obstruct, pervert or defeat the course of justice, constitutes an offence that carries a sentence of imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years if proceeded with by Indictment,” Ningi said.

For the moment, it may not be clear what message Isa Yuguda, a one-time governor of Bauchi State, hopes to get across with his latest gaffe that hospitals in the state have only eighteen doctors.What is clear however, is that Yuguda is, at his core, ideologically opportunistic. He will be whatever he needs to be in order to get ahead, shifting his beliefs in whichever direction to scam a place to stay, or scratch together a few illegal naira. We’re meant to find this kind of behaviour abhorrent, I think, and at the same time shameless or perhaps plain dumb witted in the very least. But there’s something about the way Yuguda enters into this latest opportunistic endeavour of picking at the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed for irreverent treatment, that rubbed me the wrong way. Yuguda’s interference in the ongoing desperate politics to return Bauchi State to leaders who think power is an end in itself; who mobilize people only during elections, sowing seeds of division and leaving everyone poorer and more insecure than they were, is more or less in line with his past hypocrisies. Here’s a man who, just seven years ago, handed over an administration that had acquired the reputation of being the worst in the history of Bauchi State in terms of any capacity to generate confidence in achieving credible national goals. For those who do not know, Yuguda became Governor in 2007 poorly-prepared and ill-equipped to lead except for his ambition for power and acquisition fantastic wealth. Consequently, he left the people of Bauchi at the mercy of armed crime, unforgiveable poverty and derision from other parts of Nigeria which once held the state in awe and marveled at its systems and quality of leadership.He came to power through an election contrived by the Olusegun Obasanjo administration on the back of the most gratitious insults to justice and fairness wrapped in the a crude cover of crass political opportunism and breathtaking ineptitude. He left Bauchi State suffering the shared legacy of his administration in the bombs and bullets of insurgents, and the deteriorating standards of living as politicians fleeced the poor of resources to develop. Yuguda presided over an administration that had resigned itself to live with murderers and rapists and left Bauchi critically endangered by leaders who failed to lead with justice and sensitivity to its plural nature.Within the eight years of Yuguda’s administration thousands of fellow citizens of Bauchi were internally displaced leaving hundreds of thousands of orphans, and hunger and malnourishment, previously unknown in Bauchi, were becoming alarming features of existence. Yuguda left Bauchi with hunger stalking thousands of homes, inflation making life difficult by the day, people losing jobs, businesses closing down, infrastructure decaying, young people losing hope of being employed and more drastically, hospitals were full of ghost, unprofessional, dubiously employed doctors and health workers while people suffered mysterious illnesses, But we will join those who remind him daily that hunger is stalking millions of homes. Inflation is making life difficult by the day. People are losing jobs. Businesses are closing down. Infrastructure is decaying. Young Nigerians are losing hope of being employed. Our hospitals are full of people who suffer mysterious illnesses, and they could not afford the fees.Yuguda’s left Bauchi State in 2015 with about N12.6 billion unpaid workers salaries which largely includes the salaries of medical and health workers he claimed to have made.It is also not possible to forget that since April 2011 Yuguda stopped the payment of all gratuities completely that including those of his medical and health workers.In 2015, he handed over to the incoming government the sum of N22 billion and N16 billion unpaid state and local government gratuities respectively which also includes bills for medical and health workers.Available records at the Office of the State Accountant General also shows a total number of 1,205 ghost Nurses and Midwives with 166 non- existent medical doctors who were illegimately consuming a whopping N50 million in monthly salaries.On paper, Yuguda claimed to have trained 150 medical students whereas in reality he only sent twenty to Egypt, one from each Local Govt, almost all of whom proved to be another of Yuguda’s several wasted ventures because at the end of his tenure, there were just one doctors in most of the hospitals across the state and in some cases, none at all. Similarly, Yuguda left for his successor a staggering sum of N1.2 billion in unpaid electricity bill mainly accrued from the hospitals as a result of which all hospitals were disconnected from power supply. Unfortunately, even the specialist hospital he claimed to have built was not completed even after 100% of the cost was hurriedly paid to the contractor who had to refund the money for the entire gas plant of the hospital while water supply project had to be carried out by the government that succeeded his. Ridiculously embarrassing also, Yuguda’s administration only succeeded in diminishing the economic viability of Bauchi State which is still bearing the burden of the ghost worker syndrome he entrenched as a result of poor financial management after posing as a trained economist of sorts. n this regard, Yuguda spent public funds recklessly on recurrent expenditure instead of capital on expenditure which was the foundation of the state’s backwardness compared to other new states such as Gombe that concentrated on providing infrastructural. Governor Bala Mohammed has however reversed this downward trend by providing infrastructure and eventually checkmating their evil plan to destroy the state. Yuguda has shamelessly also spoke about the government not paying pensions whereas he himself has been receiving his monthly pension in due time..Contrary to the case during Yuguda’s tenure, Bala mohammed is paying over N200 million monthly gratuities he inherited in addition to prompt payment retirees benefits from 2012 to 2013.To further pauperize the state economically, Yuguda unilaterally without recourse to due process, placed over 20,000 of his lackeys among youths and women on government payroll which created severe difficulties for the incoming administration. At the risk of overstating the matter ghost worker phenomenum was not known to Bauchi civil service whatsoever before Yuguda came to power in 2007. Governor Bala Mohammed had to undertake the bold but necessary task of cleaning the over-blotted payroll and pensions bill by removing about 3,000 questionably employed personnel and replacing them with another set of 3000 out of which 1,000 were nurses, midwives, community health workers, medical doctors, pharmacists etc. Bala Mohammed also implemented financial promotion of more than 10,000 employees, provided an accurate record of civil servants and prevented payroll fraud and manipulation.It is on record therefore that Bala Mohammed assumed office four years after Yuguda, a combination of past abuses and mismanagement of the economy and the collapse of basic infrastructure and critical facilities have created a most challenging environment for the management of the economy and security in Bauchi.For this type of man, personally impacted by the diversification of corrupt local politics, to now rail about how Bala Mohammed should govern the state is therefore the highpoint of hypocrisy and shamelessness.It is also another in a long line of situations where Yuguda latches onto an idea not because he really believes it to be true, but rather because embracing that idea creates a crusade that others can get behind, in this case in the form of an alternative campaign featuring a candidate who he intends to use to siphon money as a corrupt campaign manager.By the time one finishes reading the remark about Bauchi hospitals having just eighteen doctors in all, said to have been made by Isa Yuguda, the first thing that comes to mind is an accurate personification of the saying, “if it does not cause a person to be ashamed, that person can do or say whatsoever he wishes.”This perhaps explains why Yuguda, in apparent disregard for the rules of ordinary decency, is today judging and assessing the Bala Mohammed administration even against the failures and abuses Bauchi is having to pay for from his previous administration.It amounts to gross insensitivity for Yuguda after leading the state through eight wasted years to criticise Bala Mohammed, a man whose leadership, sacrifice, statesmanship, patriotism and unwavering commitment to the interests of the people of the state as a whole has few parallels. On a final note, unlike Yuguda, Bauchi State would forever see in Bala Mohammed’s passionate belief in the organic links between generations, a great statesman, a mentor, a guardian, a living history and an embodiment of all the exemplary qualities coming generations of leaders should strive to achieve.

The zonal Secretary North West of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Rt.Hon. Barr. Bello Muhammad Goronyo has urged the youths on the need for them to come out enmass to vote for for the candidates of the party during the Governorship and states Houses of Assembly elections scheduled for the 18th, March 2023.

Rt. Hon. Goronyo who is also the North West Director Youth Mobilisation APC Presidential Campaign Council while appreciating the youths for their enormous contributions and role they played in the victory for Asiwaju/Shettima emergence, further appealed on them to put more efforts in ensuring that they come out enmass and vote APC Governors and State Assembly members.

He stressed that youths being agents of positive change can make it happen so that the President elect and his running mate can conveniently put up a formidable team that will implement their renewed hope Manifestoes to the Nigerian people.

Rt. Hon. Goronyo emphasised that the youths as vangaurds for the protection of our democracy should not allow themselves to be used negatively but should occupy their rightful space as agents of positive change.

“They should also be a vanguard for the protection of our democracy and never allow themselves to be used by desperate and overzealous politicians whose aim is to truncate our democracy for their selfish interest.

” This Governorship and States Houses of Assembly elections is key for our party to win overwhelmingly, so as to produce governors on the platform of the party that will provide support for the President elect”.

He therefore appealed to the youths to also encourage each other to come out and excercise their franchise in support of the APC.

“Lets continue to pray for our country and our President elect and his running mate Kashim Shetima for a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where everyone will realise his dream and potential to make our country great again”.

He expressed optimism that the president elect will consolidate on the gains and successes achieved over the years under the APC administration.
